Patent Evaluation

The initial front end of product development from initial non tangible idea to moving into product development is the "getting started" grey area of the process.  It is in this initial phase where the Inventor, Entrepreneur or Company – “Light Bulb” goes off formulating the “idea”, “invention” or “product concept” to be developed and evaluating whether or not to invest resources in the further development. 

The patent evaluation of an idea- concept or patent search is typically accomplished by working with the industrial design, engineering and patent attorney team.  Most new product venture start with a preliminary patent search based on the available Client supplied information, patent and market research.  The intent is to support the Client in evaluating the prior art, existing relevant patents, claims, engineering, technology, market potential and issues.

This evaluation is typically proceeds full product development  This initial legal intellectual property phase is the most important time to evaluate to justify formal patent protection and development.  The patent evaluation phase should be considered an essential part of the development process, used as the foundation for generating the business plan  Beyond the preliminary search it is recommended you work a registered patent attorney group to best formulate your intellectual property protection. If you do not have an attorney then we will be happy to provide a recommendation.

Deliverable is a written report with recommendations and basic cost estimates.
