Materials Engineering (MatE)
Materials Engineering is an interdisciplinary
field involving the properties of material matter and its applications
to machine and product development and the relationship between the
structure of materials and their properties.
Materials Engineering includes elements of applied physics and
chemistry, as well as, mechanical, civil and electrical engineering. It
also includes the exploding biomedical engineering, and nanotechnology
markets. Materials science and materials properties and structural
integrity are the heart beat of mechanical design including looking at
product development from an internal nano-structure as well as the
external structural point of view. Understanding materials helps ensure
a durable, innovative, and properly constructed product.
Our services include
Materials Sourcing &
Selection and specification and
Reverse Engineering
to determine properties and manufacturer of existing materials. At the
source of all materials is Chemical Engineering and
Materials Manufacturing
Processes from raw materials to mechanical and chemical extraction
to refining blanks to off the shelf, cut to size materials.
